    I'm reading this now (I checked it out from the library). I strongly urge people to read it; there's a lot of stuff I didn't see in graduate stat/biostat, which has made me more aware of the holes in my knowledge.

    Excellent! This book helped a lot when I started. I still reference it here and there. Be sure to check out one of the newer posts for more resources on machine and statistical learning in R.
